Welcome to TriDad Life. This is the first official post! I thought I would begin by explaining about the site name and give you an idea of what you can expect here.
So, why “TriDad Life?” What’s this about? Why am I blogging? There are several reasons:
- My wife suggested I do this. I guess, perhaps, I could stop here as really this explains everything about my life from here on out, right Dads and husbands? 😉
- OK, so my wife suggested I do this because she loves me and knows me. I have always loved to write and I think this new thing that is about to burst into our lives has inspired me again. Since Kayla became pregnant, I have been finding random moments of inspiration and joy writing notes to our yet unborn baby (who we’ve been affectionately calling “the beanpod”) on Facebook . She encouraged me to publish a blog, so…here we are.
- If 1 and 2 answer why a blog, then here in #3 I’ll answer why call it “TriDad Life.” It’s supposed to be a play on words. It’s a simple concept really. I am becoming a father, and I like to train for triathlons. Not the crazy big Ironman ones. Just your run of the mill “sprints.” I hope maybe someday I can do an Olympic one. I thought it would be fun to write a blog about my journey of “try”ing to be a good father while also “try”ing keeping in shape to do triathlons. So, TriDad Life. Get it?
I expect I’ll write more than just things about training for triathlons and cleaning up diapers. I’m sure I’ll write about golfing, too (that is supposed to be funny and directed at my wife. Love you Babe). The one thing that is for certain is that there will be lots of Dad jokes (I think this first post is already riddled with several and I’m like not even trying).
Seriously, I don’t know what this is going to turn into – it doesn’t have to be something or anything at all. I guess I expect that this is just where I’ll find my outlet to write about my experiences as a new father and husband that’s trying to make it all work out.
Maybe it’ll be a chance to connect with some of you, and get some tips about either being a Dad, and/or related to my pursuit to improve my swimming, biking and running. Currently, I could REALLY use some tips about how to improve my swimming…HELP!
This should be fun!
